Experience
I have written extensively on the modern film and TV industry through my blog Luwd Media.
In 2012, I created my first film blog. In the following five years it received over half a million visitors, and in 2015 came third place at the Irish Blog Awards (Best Arts/Culture Blog).
It gave me an opportunity to develop an interest in both pop culture journalism and criticism, and I posted a variety of reports and reviews daily on the site for five years, developing my skills during my free time after school.
I started my new blog Luwd Media in 2017, and it won Best Arts/Culture Blog at that year’s Irish Blog Awards. It was longlisted again in 2018, and also received two Hybrid Student Media Awards in April 2019.
In late 2017, I was invited to teach a class on blogging in Dublin Business School, which was warmly received by the students.
In 2014, I was editor of the Large Association of Movie Blogs’ annual feature LAMB Devours The Oscars, a month-long series of articles from respected film blogs around the world. I was editor-in-chief of Galway’s GTI Gazette for the 2016/2017 college year and I have contributed to The College View newspaper, Hypable and the Galway Independent.
